As you may know, the Leadership Institute (LI) is an American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) initiative that provides training, mentoring, and networking opportunities to help dermatologists develop leadership skills to make them successful in their careers and in life.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS:
Leadership Forum – is designed specifically for dermatologists less than eight years out of residency/fellowship training. This is a highly interactive and enriching weekend that provides an opportunity to advance your leadership and communication skills while networking with colleagues and Academy leaders.
- Eligibility
- Must be a member of the AAD in good standing
- Must have completed at least one-year post dermatology residency/fellowship training
- Must be eight years or less since completing residency/fellowship training
- Must not have attended a Leadership Forum in the past
Academic Dermatology Leadership Program (ADLP) – is a comprehensive program that requires a full-year commitment. In addition to the Leadership Forum the ADLP includes sessions at the AAD Annual Meeting and Innovation Academy; as well as developing a relationship with a mentor chosen by the participant to assist, advise, and guide them throughout the year.
- Eligibility
- Must be a member of the AAD in good standing
- Must have completed at least three years in post-dermatology training
- Must be devoting at least 75% of your professional time to academics and have a strong commitment to the field
- Must be nine years or less since completing residency/fellowship training
- Must have completed residency training in dermatology or a fellowship in a dermatology subspecialty (dermatopathology)
Advanced Leadership Forum – is designed specifically for mid-career level dermatologists, the Advanced Leadership Forum is a highly interactive and enriching weekend that provides an opportunity to advance leadership and communication skills while networking with colleagues and Academy leaders.
- Eligibility
- Must be a member of the AAD in good standing
- Must be 10 or more years since completing dermatology residency training or must be six years past Leadership Forum attendance
- Must not have attended Advanced Leadership Forum in the past
- Must have interest in developing leadership skills around practice and advocacy
