CONGRATULATIONS: Dr. Guillermo Sicard was unanimously selected by the SCMS Board of Trustees to receive the 2020 Stark County Medical Society Lifetime Achievement Award. The Award is in recognition of his outstanding and significant contributions to the Stark County Medical Society and the medical profession and is well deserved!
Dr. Sicard graduated as a doctor of medicine from the University of Santo Domingo, October 28, 1960. Dr. Sicard moved to the USA in 1963. A proud Veteran, Dr. Sicard served as a Captain in the US Army. His dermatology residency was at Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital. Dr. Sicard also served as Chief Resident. In 1969 Dr. Sicard moved to Canton and partnered with Dr. Gardner. In 1982 Dr. Sicard opened a private practice on Munson. His son Fausto Sicard joined him in 1993.
Dr. Sicard has been an active member of the SCMS since 1969 and served as President of the Society in 1981. Other leadership positions include being the President of the Canton Academy of Dermatology, life member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Ohio Dermatological Society, Cleveland Dermatology Society and active member of the Ohio State Medical Association.
Board Certified in Dermatology and Dermatopathology, Dr. Sicard has diagnosed and treated 1065 malignant melanomas, 10,610 squamous cell carcinomas, and 8,488 basal cell carcinomas. Dr. Sicard has been married to Emilia for 56 years. Dr. Sicard and Emilia are blessed to have two children, Fausto and Julia, both in the medical profession. Their grandchildren include Anthony, Cristina, Alec and their angel in heaven Guillo. Dr. Sicard is grateful for his loyal medical staff that he has worked with over the years.
