The ODA and the OSMA would like to provide an update on the Cosmetology Ruling regarding Esthetician’s and Microblading.
The cosmetology board recently posted on its Facebook page that Microblading is considered permanent makeup and as such is regulated by the health department and require the same credentials as tattooing. A licensee of the board may not perform this service as an Esthetician or a cosmetologist. It would need to be separated from the cosmetology services. Please see the below facebook post.
